Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Attends SADC Summit in Maputo

President Samia Suluhu Hassan attended the SADC extraordinary summit which began Today, gathering heads of member states and governments in Mozambique’s Capital, Maputo.

An official welcoming program was organized for the guests at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre headed by SADC Executive Secretary Dr. Stergomenna Tax.

Following the welcoming, SADC Chair who is also a Mozambique President, H.E Filipe Nyusi said a concerted effort from SADC member states is needed to address the terrorist challenge facing Mozambique.

“The meeting discussed various agendas, including those related to integration of member states, various economic opportunities, security challenges as well as coronavirus infection,” said a statement of Tanzania’s directorate of presidential communication.
